At a moderate road, the engine speed would be very high since leverage implies a large reduction in speed between the engine and the wheels.

Carriage Unit

Carriage unit form does not greatly affect transmission nature.  The arrangement of transmission in a 4-wheel drive vehicle will be different from that of a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

The engine is usually mounted on the frame of the carriage unit at the front of the vehicle. Road wheels on the rear usually transmit motion to the front wheels. There is a considerable distance between them. For motion to be transmitted, this distance must be traversed. In addition, springs attach the rear axle to the frame.

Manual Transmission
